SunnyBrook Assisted Living Program
Philosophy of Care

The purpose of SunnyBrook Assisted Living Program is to promote the availability of services in a homelike environment and in a manner that supports each individual’s needs and preferences. Both the physical environment and the delivery of our services are designed to preserve personal autonomy in ways that enhance the personal dignity, privacy, independence and individuality of the residents. SunnyBrook emphasizes capabilities, strengths, and potential rather than disabilities, weaknesses, and limitations, and encourages a unified approach to care in which participants and staff work together to plan, implement, and evaluate services.

Philosophy of Human Resources

SunnyBrook philosophy holds that a healthy atmosphere is a natural by-product of staff enjoying their supportive role in the caring and nurturing process. SunnyBrook believes that when management takes good care of the staff, they take good care of the residents. Thus the management will build long term relationships with staff by carefully selecting caring, committed individuals and treating them like family.
